Ping Ball runs slowly

Ping Ball tends runs quite well on most PCs. If you find that the animation is a little choppy then there are a few things you can do to speed it up.

  • Use a lower colour quality setting. You can adjust the colour quality in game by selecting Options / Graphics options or by launching the Ping Ball Settings dialog (click Start -> Programs ->Ping Ball -> Settings). Most people will not notice much of a difference between high and medium colour quality, but medium will run significantly faster.
  • Checking the 'use render thread in full-screen mode' option in the Advanced tab of the Settings dialog (see above) may also speed up Ping Ball.
  • Close running programs that may use your processor. Media players in particular will use up a little cpu time and make Ping Ball seem jerky. It is usually a good idea to close them before you play.
  • Upgrade graphics drivers. If the above does not help, it may be work upgrading the drivers of your video card. You can download these for free from the website of the manufacturer of your video card.

I can't get past a level

All levels can be completed, trust me! If a particular level seems difficult, try doing the puzzles in a different order. Alternatively you can make it easier by playing the level in 'Kid Mode' or by changing the game speed to one of the slower settings. The game speed option can be found by clicking Options, then Game Options in the game.

If you really really can't get past a level, send an email to will@pingball.com and ask him to send you a demo file. When you get the file double click it and Ping Ball will show you the level being completed. Be sure to mention in the email which level it is you are stuck on.

Ping Ball crashes

If Ping Ball crashes in full-screen mode, try running it in a window. Click the Start button, then Programs -> Ping Ball -> Settings and uncheck the 'Run in Full-screen' box.

You can also try changing the graphics driver. In the settings app (see above), click the 'Advanced' tab then change the pull-down from 'Direct X' to 'WinDib'.

If you still experience problems, email support@pingball.com for help.
